Meet Ruby

I studied a Bachelor of Speech Pathology with Integrated Honours at the University of Newcastle, NSW, graduating in 2017. I loved what I learned and this formative training provided me with a strong foundation of knowledge I draw on to this day. On clinical placements in the community, it was incredible to see what progress children and adults can make when given evidence based therapy and support from skilled therapists.

I have previously worked in private practice in Newcastle and in multidisciplinary practice in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs, providing assessment and therapy for children with difficulties and disorders in speech, language, stuttering, social skills, and literacy. I have worked with children aged 20 months all the way through to teenage years, who have presented with a range of profiles from small delays and differences, Autism, ADHD, through to more complex communication needs and developmental disorders. It’s always a pleasure to meet new clients and work as a collaborative and enthusiastic support to their families.

I particularly enjoy targeting language skills; from helping ‘late talkers’ progress towards early communication milestones to supporting school-age learners in their comprehension and self-expression. I love tailoring activities and resources to the interests of your child and presenting them with enthusiasm and energy!

I continue to upskill and attend professional development; speech pathology is a continuously evolving space of increasing research. As a practitioner, it is of great importance to me to continuously learn and adapt based on the latest available research so I can be better equipped to help every child I meet. I am a member of Speech Pathology Australia with Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist status.

I first conducted online sessions with clients well before COVID, and since then, I have used it extensively with toddlers, preschoolers, school age clients, and high schoolers for a range of purposes including stuttering therapy, literacy therapy, speech and language therapy, as well as social skills. I love using the best available online resources, engaging YouTube videos, and exciting games to motivate my clients with great results!

If you are concerned about your child’s communication, social or play skills, or literacy, please reach out – you’re always welcome in Ruby’s Room.
